Tiger Woods released the following statement on his website (Tigerwoods.com):

I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try.

I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What’s most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.

After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.

In light of all of the controversy that Tiger has going on, I think that it would be best for his family for him to withdraw from the Public for a while.  It’s not even my life and I am exhausted by the Tiger Woods’ Saga.  I’m hoping that with his time off, the minute to minute  updates and the constant stream of Mistresses coming forward will go away.  I don’t get all of the Mistresses coming forward and telling the World that ‘Yes, I had an affair with Tiger Woods’.   Of course it is all for money, but why is everything for sell?  I don’t think Adultery should be rewarded with book deals and interviews.

But anyway, I hope that Tiger and Elin are able to work things out and do what is best for them.  Whether they stay together or break up, I hope that they are able to have a healthy relationship for their kids.  One thing though, if the only way that Elin will stay is if the amount of her Pre-nup is increased, they might as well divorce now, because the marriage is over.
