The Idols will honor The  Artists of  the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame through song.  They will be assisted by Jimmie Lovine, Will I Am and Ryan Tedder with the production of their tracks.  Gwen Stefani is there to help them with their fashion and style!  Nice!

Jacob Lusk:   He started out trying to sing ‘Let’s Get it On’ by Marvin Gaye, but he had to let  that go, because he could not sing a song about doing the ‘nasty’.  Hahahha!  Who says that?  He changed to  ‘Man in the Mirror’ by Michael Jackson.  Jacob got a little cocky and stated that if his performance isn’t appreciated, then that will mean that America is not able to to look at themselves in the mirror.  Really?  Jacob has an ego!  Wait?  Is that Siedah Garrett (she wrote the song) on the stage singing with him?  Nice touch.  This song fit him and I am glad that he was feeling it.  Nice job.   Steven calls Sedah back out who modestly.  Steven:  Everytime you sing, you bring a little bit more of the party.  Jlo:  You make everybody know that if you believe in yourself, you can do anything.  Beautiful and perfect.  Randy:  He loved that he was true to his moral conviction and he had to do him.  He is so proud of him.  He has found his Jacob moment.  Jacob moments all over it.      Video   866.436.3701

Haley Reinhart:  She sang ‘Piece of my Heart’ by Janis Joplin.  The Judges have been encouraging her to embracer her inner lil Janis, so she decides to give them what they want. This is such a big song.  Haley is having a ball a ball up there and she is singing her heart out, but the jury is out on this one for me.  I mean there is a fine line between singing and screaming.   Jlo:  Off to a strong start.  She is showing everyone that she is a Contender.  You will be around for a minute.  Randy:  They (the audience) love you. (he felt that) She did her bluesy cool thing up there.  Haley, welcome back.  Steven:  Couldn’t find nothing like that.  You take it up a few notches.  Gotta Rewind.   Video    866.436.3702

Casey Abrams:  He sang ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’ by Creedance Clearwater Revival.  Casey is kind of pumped that he collaborated with Will I am.  Hahaha…..Jimmy called Will Iam ‘Mama’ in practice and things kind of stoped.  Tonight, Casey nailed it.  That save truly brought him back in a big way.  Randy:  You made CCR proud.  You did well!   justice to that song.  You have made the Upright Base cool.  You have put it in popular music.  Steven:  Thinks he should put some wheels on that and ride that thing around town.  You are a true Musician.  JLo:  That is exactly where you belong.  I’m paying top dollar to see you in the front row.       Video            866.436. 3703

Lauren Alaina:  She sang ‘Natural Woman’ by Aretha Franklin.   Lauren has to bring it tonight and as Will says, combines Country & Soul to Countroul.  Bbecause this is one of the biggest songs that you can pick and you have to bring somthing new.  This was a nice performance, but it didn’t make me say ‘Sing girl’!  and that is what is supposed to happen when you are feeling yourself enough to sing ReRe Franklin.  Nice note at the end, but what about the rest?  Steven:  I love you!  You started this as a Young girl and now you are a natural born woman.   Steven thinks she is great.  Jlo:  Very nice.  She is amazing.  Randy:  Picked one of the most difficult ones.  He wasn’t jumping up and down, but good job.     Video                                         866.436.3704

James Durbin:  He sang ‘While My Guitar Gently  Sleeps‘ by George Harrison.  James is hoping to grow as an Artist and slow things down tonight and show his sensitive side.  I like this new side of James that he is showing us.  I also like the Violin playing ladies in the background.  I don’t even know if he needed the trademark wailing athe the end of the song.  It was already a  pretty nice song.   Jlo:  thouht that it wass nice to see this other side of him and he was so special to watch.  She loved it and this was a great choice for him.  Randy:  Loved seeing the emotional side of James Durbin and his connection.  He took a chance and he won and he did a good job.  Steven:  Nice to see him guitar gently weep and that he (James) did too.    Video            866.436.3705

Scotty McCreery:  He sang ‘That’s Alright Mama’ by Elvis Presley.   He was a huge Elvis Fan (shocker)   growing up and this week and he is hoping to give his performance  that rock feeling.  I’m really tripping off how much Scotty sounds like Elvis Presley.  I don’t know what ‘Rock’ sound he was hoping to bring to his performance tonight; this is classic Elvis, but it works for this little Country Boy.  Some young girls rush the stage. I guess Scotty is pretty hot these days.  Randy: Scotty is in it to win it.  This was amazing.  You were having fun.  A new Scotty!  ( Same Scotty- Elvis Scotty).  Steven:  He did it well.  Jlo:  You were  having fun.  Do you watch rap at home at all?  She feels that Scotty has some flavor in there.  WTH are they talking about?  What Flavor?  This was straight Scotty doing great Elvis and, don’t get me wrong; he rocked it.  But come on!  Flavor like a Rapper?  I gotta rewind.    Video   866.436.3706

Christian Slater discusses his new show ‘Breaking In’ which will air after the show.

Pia Toscano:  She sang ‘River Deep Mountain High’ by Ike and Tina Turner.    Will I Am tells Pia that she is going to have to wow them tonight.  Pia is ready to bring it.  She did a great job with the vocals on this one.  I think my only complaint with her is that I would like to hear a little more soul in her voice.  But otherwise, she is a powerhouse.  Steven:  You Murderer…you killed it.  A million guys are having a million drinks about you tonigt.  Jlo:  Amazing.  You proved you can sing uptempo.  She would like to see her research great performers.  Not that you aren’t amazing,  but keep researching.  Randy:  Everyone believes in her.  She showed tonight that she can deliver on an uptempo.  Jlo is right, work on the movements of the performance.       V ideo 866.436.3707

Stefano Lagone:  He sang ‘When A Man Loves a Woman’ by Percy Miller.  Will encouraged Stefano to get into character for this performance.  Stefano has a knack for picking my favorite songs.  I could tell that he was into it, but he had his eyes shut for part of it and that was a no no.  (I guess that she didn’t notice)   Jlo: I knew you had it in you.  That was beautiful.  She loved it and that had another layer of emotion in it.  Amazing.  Magic.  Randy:  I liked it too.  The first part was a little jumpy (Jlo objects),  He liked it, but he wasn’t jumping up and down.  Steven liked the old timey of the beginning.  You have a great range.  Tonight you nailed it with a lot of passion.    Video   866.436. 3708

Paul McDonald:  He sang ‘Folsom Prison Blues’ by Johnny Cash.   The Producers encouraged Paul to ty to be as crazy as possible during this performance.  He listened to the Experts.  Lol.   His hair kind of  looks like Beetlejuice with it up all over his head.  I thought that Paula did a pretty decent job with this and I liked that he really let go on the stage.  Randy:  I loved it.  Steven:  Crazy Character.  You rocked the house.  Jlo:  Perfect way to end the show.    Video     866.436.3709
