This week is Classical Week for the Stars and they  will be accompanied by a 46 piece band.  That alone must be somewhat intimidating.  I’m impressed by the full Orchestra; it’s very nice.  This is the first time that there has been a classical week; I was wondering, because it seems like I would have remembered this.  I was really surprised how much difference the full band made.

The Pros provide us some feedback on how big it is to have a full Orchestra; their moves will have to be bigger to match the music.

Dance Troupe  Members Kiki and Oksana perform The Paso Doble.  Oh wow, it is extremely powerful to have the full band there.  Very dramatic!  The Violinists are extraordinary.  I’m feeling this big band addition!

Romeo and Chelsie:  They danced the Paso Doble.   Romeo is hoping to  put everything into this dance and satisfy even Len.  He has to nail the aggression in this routine.   I thought that Romeo ws good last week, but I definitely think there was much improvement this week.  He is bringing the fire into this dance.  Great intensity.  I love the music.  Standing O.  Len:  It was full of passion, attack and intensity.  Work on precion, and technique.  Great dance.  Bruno:  Focused, powerful and full of attack.   You cannot tell how difficult it is to danc to this music, but you managed to get it right.  Posture needs work.  you had the look of a rising star.  Carrie Ann:  She saw a lift.  This was the first time she saw a Pas with Swagger.  Very Passionate.  (MAC-9)  Carrie Ann-7, Len-8, Bruno-8= 23  Seriously….Does Carrie Ann get a bonus for calling the lifts?   Video            800. 868. 3405

Kendra and Louis:  They danced the Viennese Waltz.  She is still worrying abut nailing the ‘ladylike’ dance thing, even after scoring well last week.   Hmm… I think that Kendra is better than this Waltz.  She did a decent job, but it was clear that she was really nervous and that distaction made her really stiff.  It just  didn’t flow.  Oh dear….there was a bit of a stumble at the end.  Bruno:  You messed it up and you know that.  Alot of technical issues.  Kendra needed to become one wih the music…. (and he is off on a rant).    Carrie Ann:  I see that you are trying very hard.  Carrie Ann encourages her to remember that elegance is not so much difference from sexy.  She has it and she stopped it from coming out tonight.  Len:  Bruno forgets that you people are beginners, but I’m not saying there were mistakes.  It had flow and movement.  Don’t be cruel Bruno.  Really?  How did Len say that with a straight face?   (MAC-7), Carrie Ann-6, Len-6, Bruno-6= 18     Video                800. 868. 3407

Sugar Ray and Anna:  They danced the Viennese Waltz.  Anna takes Sugar Ray on a field trip to a Ballet Class to help him find some love for ballet and grace.    Oh…he is really in this to win it; he’s got on blue flashdance tights at the ballet class.  Lol.  This was a very charming Waltz.  Great choreography that truly played to Sugar’s strengths.  Carrie Ann:  She has never smiled so much.  He has a sparkle that is unbelievable.  Something so entertaining and charming.  Len: Sugar Ray has been turned into the sugar plum fairy.  The more he got into it, the more he enjoyed it.  I was thoroughly entertained.  Bruno:  He is right, Barysnikov will not lose his sleep tonight. It had a wonderful Cartoonish flavor; Instead of making him Prince Charming, he was like Mickey Rooney and the Princess.  (MAC-8) Carrie Ann- 7, Len-7, Bruno-7= 21   Video             800. 868. 3406

Petra and Dmitry:  They danced the Paso Doble.   Petra struggled to find her aggressive side for the Paso in practice.  Hmmm……this didn’t work for me.  There were parts of the dance that were okay, but I don’t think that she ever really captured the character and a lot of it looked kind of awkward.  She is too nice (which isn’t really a bad thing).  Since she got a standing O, I guess that I am out there alone.  Len:  Would have liked more authority in legs and feet.  Overall more impressed than depressed.  It was just here and there.  Bruno: (he’s stripping and rambling)  she knows what she wants and she will get plenty.  (I guess he liked it)  Carrie Ann:  You are on a roll.  It was incredible.  (Len interrupts and suggest that Carrie Ann should sit in the middle, because of Bruno’s propensity to go overboard)  Her Lines were gorgeous.  Powerful Petra.  (I guess I gotta rewind)  (MAC-6) Carrie Ann- 8, Len-7, Bruno-8=  23    Video         800. 868. 3404

Ralph and Karina:  They danced the Waltz.    Tonight, they will perform the story of Romeo and Juliet.  Ralph wants to get a hold of his ‘spatula hands’.  I think that he did very well tonight.  Beautiful dance and he controlled the hands.  Nice.  Very nice!  Bruno:  Achingly romantic.  Brilliant story telling.  Thanks him for continuing the lines.  Carrie Ann:  Loves his honesty when he dances.  She was swept in and she was right in the story.  Len:  In the wilderness for 2 weeks….you’re back!  (MAC-9) Carrie Ann-8, Len-8, Bruno-9=25   Video                800. 868. 3408

Hines and Kym:  The danced the Paso Doble.    Hines was at the top of the score board last week.  I’m thinking that he should be pretty good on being aggressive in his dance.  Now that is what I am talking about!  What a Powerful and well danced Paso.  He tackled this dance like he was on the field.  I loved it and I was kind of feeling Hines tonight!  Wow!  His Football buddies are in the house leading the standing O.  Carrie Ann-You were in the zone.  Touchdown on the Paso Doble.  You nailed it.  Len:  Most determined of all of our celebrities.  You are really doing great.  Bruno:  Yes, you have the killer instinct.  Truly explosive.  (MAC-10) Carrie Ann-9, Len-8, Bruno-8= 25.  Really?  An 8?  As if!          Video            800. 868. 3403

Chelsea and Mark:  They danced the Viennese Waltz.     Chelsea is hoping to show that her and Mark are a force to be reckoned with.   Chelsea was so immersed into her character tonight and she was fabulous.  I loved the ‘Harry Potter’ theme of the Choreography.  Very original.  Funny, the very thing that I love will probably be the thing that Len hates.  Len:  There is no doubt,  Mark is a Marvelous teacher and choreographer.  Chelsea is a fantastic dancer.  Len wonders why everytime he sees them there is something that he does not like.  This is the Viennese Waltz and it is the most traditional of all the dances.  She has to interpret this 300 year old dance correctly.  Overall, he liked it (this is the same man who just told Bruno not to be cruel).  Bruno:  Listen to me; it was magical, beautiful and bewitching.  Technically, it was the best of the night.  Carrie Ann:   Sometimes, she agrees with Len, the nchoreography can be distracting,  but tonight she agrees with Bruno.  Beautiful!  Great choreography (MAC-10)  Carrie Ann-9, Len-8, Bruno-9=26  Best score of the night!      Video        800. 868. 3401

Chris and Cheryl:  They danced the Paso Doble     Chris is hoping to please all of the Judges tonight.  Chris is hoping to draw on his experience as  a haughty Wrestler to bring the strength and passion of the Paso Doble.  This dance should have worked, but Chris failed to bring the passion.  It was kind of stiff and he looked like he was thinking really hard about each step that he took.  Bruno: Excellent.  Carrie Ann:  So connected to the music.  You were in it.  Len:  The dance wasn’t bad.  The first part he had the intensity, but in the second part, the music grew more powerful and conquered him.  He didn’t conquer the music.  (MAC-7)  Carrie Ann- 8, Len-7, Bruno-8=23        Video   800. 868. 3409

Kirstie and Maks:  They danced the Waltz.   Last week, Kirstie and Maks stole the show with their now notorious fall.  Kirstie has a hip injury that reared it’s ugly head in the rehearsal.  Very nice start, but what is she doing?  Is she tying her shoe during the dance?  Okay…..Nice recovery and I liked the dance, but Kirstie is going to have to stop with the problematic dances.  She can move and she is good, but enough already!  Carrie Ann:  The Queen of the unexpected mishap!  Whose shoe comes off during a dance (good question)?  You didn’t miss a beat.  After the shoe came off, you seem to have had more joy.  Len:  It was okay, everything needs to be stronger.  Flow more.  Bruno:  He thought she did amazingly well.  Light on your feet and great musicality.   (MAC-7)  Carrie Ann-7, Len-7, Bruno-8= 22     Video  800. 868. 3411
