American Idol Recap 4/21/11

Here is the Recap!  Last night we got some great performances from our Idol Hopefuls and I am wondering who will make it through to next week? 

At the start of the show, I am thinking that Casey, James and Haley are definitely advancing.

Ryan says that over 52 million votes came in last night.  To which I say…..how is that possible?  I vote once and feel like I contributed in a big way.

 Tonight Katy Perry with Knye West and David Cook will perform.

Ryan has small talk with the Judges.  Jlo hopes that a girl is not eliminated.  Most importantly, Mark Anthony was.  Steven promises to give the Backstage Editor something to worry about.

Group Duet:

Lauren, Jacob, Stefano and Haley perform Jupiter’s ‘Hey Soul Sister’.  Decent performance, but it’s nothing to write home about.  Video

Matt Lauer Interview with Kanye West on Today Show

Check out Kanye West’s interview with Matt Lauer. There is some controversy about the way that the interview was conducted and Kanye was left feeling that he was misunderstood.     NYtimes writes:

In the interview, which runs about 20 minutes, Mr. West begins to talk about how he can empathize with Mr. Bush, saying that they have both been mischaracterized as racists. Mr. West explains that the tag was unfairly applied to him after the MTV Awards incident. As he answers, Mr. West is shown in a split screen with footage of the 2009 confrontation between him and Ms. Swift, and this clearly upsets him.

Kanye, Selita Banks, Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr were seen getting their chill and drinks on as they watch Andy Roddick play in the US Open.  Life much be really good for these folks!

Celebrities Attend the amFAR Gala

 Celebrities came out to the American Foundation for AIDS Research Gala in Milan, Italy on September 29th.

They’re back!  And it looks like Kanye and Amber still have their swerve on!  First Red Black carpet since the now notorious MTV Awards incident.  And thank God, no Hennessey in sight!

MTV Video Awards- Red Carpet Arrivals Part 1

 The Celebs came out to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall on September 13, 2009 in New York City.   Of course, there was a huge turnout to see the highly anticipated Michael jackson Tribute that started with Sister Janet Jackson recreating their Scream Video!

Is that Hendog the reason that Kanye dissed Taylor Swift?  I’m wondering if that was staged….think Eminem and Bruno.  Kanye’s Main girl Amber Rose was there in her snakeskin as well.

In short, this is a really good interview and I always enjoy him.
