Dancing With The Stars Finals Results 11/23/10

Jennifer and Derek are Season 11’s Champions!  YES!  I was really worried for a while.

Jennifer, Kyle and Derek square off tonight for the coveted Mirrored Disco Ball!  Tom provides us with quite a dramatic start of the show.   I like Tom, he is one of the better Reality Show hosts.

The Stars and their Partners take the floor for a fun dance that makes everyone look pretty good.  Choreography by Jason Gilkenson.  Michael Bolton and Audrina Patridge aren’t in attendance.  Michael is performing in England and Audrina is sick.

So folks, it is down to Jennifer & Derek, Kyle & Lacey & Mark.  Who knows what will happen.  I certainly haven’t been able to pick the last few eliminations, so I can only open for the best.  The Stars will perform 2 dances tonight: The Redemption dance and the Freestyle.

Kyle & Lacey:  Their Redemption dance is the Foxtrot.  Kyle has captured our hearts through the season.  He knows that he must dance well this week, so he tells Lacey to push him to excel.  Len comes by to give Kyle some tips on improving his technique.   Kyle is grateful for the help. 

The Foxtrot stars out really slow, but there are some sexy moves in it.    I think that Kyle is really light on his feet and he is doing a great job.  He just looks like a baby dancing though.  Len says that the Foxtrot is the most demanding dance and that this time around was so much better than the first dance.  He has gone from messy messy to marvelous.   Bruno says he is sharp and slinky.  He showed a new level of ability.  When he has to deliver he does.  Carrie Ann likes him improvement.  She could tell that he was too focused on his technique and footwork and she enjoys seeing his usual showmanship.  (MAC-9) Carrie ann-9, Len-9 , Bruno-9 =27    Video

Dancing With the Stars Recap 11/15/10

It’s the Semi-Finals for DWTS and it down to our remaining four Contestants: Jennifer & Derek, Brandy & Maks, Bristol & Mark and Kyle & Lacey.

Tonight, the contestants will perform 2 routines.  There will be a Latin and a Ballroom round for the Stars to win our votes.

Brandy & Maks:  They danced the Paso Doble.   Last week, Maks was fighting mad at Carrie Ann’s critiques, so he knows that he has to control his anger this week.      Very Good movements.  Sharp and precise.  But I am not feeling the music.  It throws off the Paso for me.  Sadly, I’m not loving it, but I do like it.   Len thought they came out 100 percent tonight.   Alot of aggression and attack.  Bruno thought someone could get hurt.  Bruno thought that she danced like a fury at times that  she lost the finesse of the dance at times.  Carrie Ann thought the performance was amazingly passionate and that Brandy was so locked into her character;  Brandy did a great job.  Monica is there to cheer her pal Brandy on.  (MAC-8) Carrie Ann- 9   ,  Len-  9  ,   Bruno-   9= 27.  800.868.3406  Video

Dancing With the Stars Recap 11/08/10

 

DWTS is one week away from the semi-finals.  5 couples remain in the competition.  Tonight, the Stars will dance 2 dances: 1 Individual Dance and 1 Instant Dance.

Kyle and Lacey:  They danced the Viennese Waltz to ‘Breathe’.  In practice, Lacey tried to be strict with Kyle to show that he is serious.  Sorry Lacey, he thinks it is cute when she yells at him. K yle is still struggling to perfect his feet work.  This week, I have to give it to Kyle, he has definitely improved and I took him more seriously as a Young Man.  This was his best dance.  Len thought that he had good form  Last week, he was  a little bud, this week he is a  gorgeous orchid.  Bruno speaks for  everyone when he says that ‘ We are all charmed’.  He likes that he takes critcism and comes back better.   He commends Kyle for being a nice young man.  Carrie Ann proclaims that her crush is back on.   She love watching him and at times, it seemed like he was dancing on cloiuds.  (MAC-9),  Carrie Ann-9, Len-9, Bruno-9= 27.  Video

Dancing With The Stars Recap 11/1/10

DWTS celebrates the 200th episode tonight.  It is hard to believe that DWTS has been on for only 5 years!

For the first time, our current season stars will be judged by Past Season’s Stars.

Dancing With The Stars Recap 10/25/10

 

It is Rock Week on DWTS!  Sounds Scary!  Last week, we said goodbye to Florence and Corky!  Tonight, our remaining Contestants will Dance to Rock Songs.  But first, the Top 10 performances of all times will be revealed out of the nearly 1,000 dances of all time.
10.  Shawn Johnson & mark Ballas Freestyle dance to ‘Do Your Thing’.   Hmmm…this was a good dance, but it really freaked me out with the mask at the beginning of the dance.  Not too sure if this would have made my top ten.

9.  Donny Osmond & Kym Johnson Argentine Tango danced to  Tango A Pugliese. 

8.   Helios Castroneves and Julianne Hough’s Quickstep to Hey Pachuco.  Now this was a great dance!  I would have picked this one for sure!
7.   Apollo and Julianne Hough ‘Freestyle’ to Bust a Move.  Another great one.   I miss Julianne’s Choreography.
6.    Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough’s Paso Doble performed to Living on Video.  Very funky choregraphy!
5.   Mel B. and Maks  Paso Doble to ‘Free Your Mind’.  Loved it!
4.  Nicole Scheringer and Derek Hough’ Paso Doble to Spanish Girl.  This is why Nicole is the Reigning Champion.
3.  Apollo and Julianne danced ‘The Samba’ to Move it.  Apollo was getting his groove on.
2.  Gilles Marini and Cheryl’s Tango   performed to Assassin’s Tango.   Mmm, Mmm, Mmm….this man is delicious….oh and he can dance too!
1.  Drew Lachey and Cheryl’s Freestyle danced to Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy.   Hmm…Number 1?

Dancing With The Stars Recap 10/18/10

Tonight will be DWTS’ first TV Theme night. I’m betting that Florence will hem up the Brady Bunch Theme for sure.

The judges give us some feedback on what the contestants will need to win the competition. This is interesting and all, but this is a lot of time that the Judges are using with the critiques. 

Brandy and Maks:  The danced the Quick Step.   TV Theme: ‘Friends’.  Very fun and cute dance.  Excellent choreography for this music and Brandy looks like she is having great fun.  She has great form and I think that even Len wll like this one.  Len is so impressed with the dance.  He thought that it was full of sass and this was Brandy’s best dance.  Bruno thought that they got the right formula and that they were on it.  Didn’t lose count and it was so fast.  Carrie Ann feels there is such an amazing new bond and their dancing is at another level.   (MAC-10  )  Carrie Ann- 9  ,  Len- 9  ,  Bruno-9   =27      800.868. 3406   Video

Dancing With The Stars Recap 10/11/10

 
This week  is Acoustic and  Ballroom  week on DWTS!  Tonight, the Celebrities will receive 2 scores:  one for Performance and one for Technique. 
Feedback from the Pros and Contestants about performing on a small and elevated stage and what challenges that they face.  I do agree that they are facing some real challenges with the unfamiliar ground of the accoustic music and small intimate stage setting.
Pros come out to do a demonstration of what the Rumba should look like.   Dimitri and Chelsie do the dances with ease to the Band’s slowed down version of Adele’s  ‘Chasing Pavements’.  I think I kind of like this very diferent version.  Video

Dancing With the Stars Recap 10/4/10

 

 It is story Night on DWTS!  Each Dance will tell a Story, it is up to the Dancers to sell it!  And they are allowing/encouraging Props!  Last week, the Contest lost Michael Bolton.  But he’s back!  Susan Boyle was scheduled tomorrow for the DWTS Result night, but she is unable to perform.  Michael Bolton graciously will stand in.  Wow!  NeYo will also perform.

 The Pros Take the Stage to demonstrate  the dances that will be performed tonight: The Foxtrot, The Waltz and The Samba.

Jennifer & Derek:  They danced the Samba to  Brazil.   Their story is that  Jennifer is the Teacher and Derek has a crush on him.  They are acting out some fantasies this time.  Excellent dance.  These two move so very well together.  Derek is one of the best Choreographers on the show.  I love their wardrobe tonight, it really compliments the dance.  She’s pretty good with that ruler.  Len really enjoyed it.  He loved that they continued the story throughout the dance.  She wasn’t as clean and crisp in her moves.  Bruno thinks she is the sexy mistress of cougar town in samba school, but Len is right, she is  fluttered a little, but he thought that she was great.  Carrie Ann- thought they were a little out of sync, but they told the story well.  Derek and Jennifer recreate the moves to show that they can do it.  (I don’t know, I really liked this one)   (MAC – 9  )  Carrie Anne-   8 ,  Len-  8  ,  Bruno- 8   = 24     1-800-868-3411  Video
