Sasha Mallory takes 2nd place!

Great night of entertainment tonight!  I always enjoy seeing the Judge’s favorite performances of the season and the lead up to the winner.

The show opened with the group routine to Don’t you Wanna Get Hyped by District 78.    This is some serious choreography.  I’m thinking that this has to be some Sonya Tayek’s  work.  My niece offers up one word to sum this dance up:  Awesome!  She is right!  And so am I.  This is Sonya’s work!  Video

Dancing With the Stars Recap 5/16/11

Tonight, The Top 4 will perform 3 dances to win their place in the finals.  As I look at the top four, all I can think of is how great Kirstie looks!  DWTS is the best decision that she has made in the last few years to conquer her weight.

We learn that Kym Johnson hurt herself during a rehearsal and that she almost wasn’t able to perform tonight. 

Ralph and Karina:  They danced the Argentine Tango.  Ralph knows that he got by last week, with the hair on his chinny chin chin because of his fans, so he is hoping to excel, so that he can prove that he deserves to be in the Top 3.  Wow, Ralph is really into this, he is willing to wear underwear that will enhance his butt, so that he has something to shake.  Can we say TMI.  Tonight, I think that the Karate Kid is back.  The Tango is his Dance! He totally got into character, but he could have really gotten into the passion to make this dance complete.  I really enjoyed it.  Standing O.  Len:    It lacked a little emotion, didn’t smolder, but he liked the set up of the dance.  You did a really good job.  Bruno:  Something was stirring, but once you got hold of her, you were slightly deterred.  Flat interpretation.  This is the semi final.  Sorry.  Carrie Ann:  Glad you are dancing and not in pain.  She agrees with Bruno.  You have to get the emotion in the dance.  She would like to see it all connect.  This is constructive criticism.  (MAC-8)   Carrie Ann-8, Len-9, Bruno-8=25 out of 30.   Video

Dancing With The Stars Recap 4/26/11

DWTS aired two shows tonight. The first show  highlighted what the remaining contestants need to bring to advance.  This show offered up performances from Constantine Maroulis and The Rock of Ages crew Video  and Hanson performed.  Video.  The 2nd show was the elimination show.  Chris and Cheryl were eliminated!

Kate and William’s Royal Wedding Spoof! Best Casting Ever!!!

I am convinced that just about everyone else has a whole lotta extra time on their hand.  This video proves it.  I don’t know who these people are, but they have put together a pretty believable Royal Wedding Spoof where everyone from the Queen Mom to the Blushing Bride is shaking their groove thing as they enter the Church. 

Where did they find these people?  They look so much like the Royal Family that I think that they must make some extra cash on the side as Royal ‘lookalikes’.  Anyway, this is great fun.  It’s a toss up between who made the best entrance?   Prince Henry and Prince William

American Idols Recap 3/31/11

 

The Idol Hopefuls took on the music of the great Elton John and they actually pulled it off.  I was really thinking that this could have been one of the worst nights ever, but they delivered.

Ryan reports that over 55 million votes came in last night!  Damn, that is an all time high for Idol!

Tonight’s performances will be by Fantasia and Jamie Foxx ft  Will I am.

American Idol Recap 3/30/11

The show opens with the clip of Casey Abrams being saved last week.  Two will go home tomorrow!

I’m as happy as can be that Sir Elton John returns tonight and the Idols will try to do their Mentor proud!

The Idol Hopefuls were treated to a Entertainment Weekly photoshoot to prepare for the Elton John week.  Nice.

Scotty McCreery:  He sang ‘Country Comfort’  accompanied by his guitar.  Smart boy, he knows where his strength is and he has not strayed from it.  Scotty was drawn to this country song about a Country Grandmother and his Grandma just happens to be in the audience.  You can’t make up a better story than that!  He nailed it.  Steven:  Nothing I can say to you that a pair of old country boots couldn’t fix.  You did it again.  JLo:  you have amazing instincts about what is right for you. You’re right on, never doubt yourself.  Randy:  You have seasoned so fast on this show.  He felt like he was at his concert.  All the judges really liked that he gave a shout out to Grandma.  Video

 Color me happy!  DWTS Season 12 is officially here!   America can vote up to Eleven times per phone line.  There will not be an elimination tomorrow night, but all of the votes from tonight will be counted in next weeks’ elimination.

Are You Ready for ‘The Real Housewives of Miami’?

Bravotv has announced the cast of  ‘The Real Housewives of Miami’.  These ladies will make up the latest franchise of  The Housewives.  I can’t wait to see what these ladies will bring to the table.  The new series will air on February 22nd on Bravotv @ 10pm.

Amy Winehouse is Back!

Amy Winehouse triumphantly returned to the stage last night at the Summer Soul Festival in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil.  The last couple of years have been especially troubling for the 27 year old Singer as she reportedly battled drug and alcohol abuse.  Amy hadn’t performed live since 2008, but last night she took to the stage looking healthy and sounding very good.  According to reports, Amy was well received by her fans.  I’m very happy to see that Amy is doing better, because some of the past reports and pictures looked like she was on a downward spiral.  I love Amy’s music, so the best wishes extended to her.  Here’s a clip from last night.

Various Celebs sing ‘Let It Be’

Check out this video of Random Celebrities performing their rendition of the Beatles Classic Hit ‘Let it Be’.  This  video is supposed to be a promo for a Norwegian (reality?) show, so I am not sure why the celebs that are used are all Actors that had their heyday in the late 80’s or early 90’s.  I would like to see the show, because this one is a little strange.  Nice to see the late Leslie Nielsen included.
